New Phyrexia!
Now that I’ve had a couple days to learn the set, I have to say that I am loving the New Phyrexia block! Surprisingly enough, I actually was able to stay up late enough for launch event last Thursday at midnight to pick up my box. But unlike most MTG players, I am pretty slow when it comes to opening my magic packs. I guess you could say I like the savor the moment and open packs a few at a time. It’s now day 3 and I still have more than 10 packs left to open. :) So far I’ve pulled the red, green, and blue legendary creatures (Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger, Urabrask the Hidden, Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur and Surgical Extraction, which is a pretty sick looking card.
I actually ended up building a decent infect deck on Thursday since we did what my friend calls a “personal draft”. It was more like a sealed draft, but it was pretty much all green/blue infect with a lot of Glistener Elves, Blighted Agents, and Viridian Betrayers. And to seal the deal, the Spinebiter was pretty much a game winning card in addition to Triump of the Hordes with Mycosynth Fiend. I ended up going 2-1 and also beating another deck 2-0 on Saturday with the same deck so I think it was pretty decent.
