Happy Tauntaun Bellies

Vintage Open Belly Taun Taun with Hoth Lego Set

So how do you go about buying a gift for someone who is into fashion and geeky things? Well, here is your answer. I have always loved vintage Star Wars toys, but obviously they can be expensive. And realistically, I am just out of space in my house. With tons of moving boxes full of various Star Wars toys from the ’90s up until now, I have really had to keep any toy purchases to a minimum. But there is always room for an exception.

My awesome husband, who goes by the gamertag”Chewbroccoli”, recently surprised me with this vintage open belly Tauntaun for my birthday. Keep in mind that this is one of my top 3 most coveted vintage Star Wars toys with the giant AT-AT and yoda figure also up there. After 10 seconds of high pitched shrieking, I realized that there were items hanging out of it’s belly. No, not Tauntaun guts, but jewelry! What every geeky girl dreams of – a Tauntaun full of sparkly goodies! This will definitely go down as one of the best all-time gifts I’ve ever received, thanks to my Chewbrocooli.

I had a couple of these tauntans, but I think they were generation 1 cuz I don’t recall them having the belly you could stuff things into. They only had a top hatch to put the SW figure in so out looked like they were riding the beast. I sold them on ebay for what I thought was a good price back then. Don’t remember how much now. Props to Wils for the cool idea to use it to hold jewelry!
