Her Universe to the Rescue!

Happy 7th Birthday, Her Universe! I can’t believe it’s already been 7 years! To think that when I first started this blog 5 years ago, I only had a handful of women’s geeky shirts and now I could put together a full on head to toe ensembles of different fandoms! I mean, check out one of my earlier blog posts here, centered around a very basic fitted Star Wars tee, which I was soo excited for at the time because it was such a rare find! Looking back on these old blog posts, it’s amazing to see how far geek fashion has come and I can’t help but think Her Universe had a huge part in all this. Not only did they pave the way for women’s geek fashion with events like the Her Universe Fashion Show, but they made other brands realize that there is a market for women’s geek fashion and women are interested in dressing nice while supporting their latest geeky obsession! I’ve been a big fan of a lot of their pieces over the years and this Star Wars 40th Anniversary Souvenir Jacket is all about the details – the embroidered logo on the front, the Asian inspired artwork of a classic duo on the back, and of course the little things like the lining (resembling C-3PO’s mid section). It’s definitely a jacket worthy of the 40th anniversary of Star Wars and will definitely go down as one of my favorites. Thank you, Her Universe, for giving us female fans more than just a “logo on a shirt” and I can’t wait to see what the next year brings!
