It’s been a crazy past month at work and some days, I am just completely drained. Sometimes the only thing that keeps me going is when I look in the mirror and see my favorite shirt, jacket, or accessory! Sometimes it feels like I’m in the rebellion, barely surviving and fighting for a better tomorrow! Ok, maybe that’s a little over dramatic, but you get the picture. It’s been a while since I pulled out this Finn inspired jacket, one of my favorite pieces from the Her Universe The Force Awakens line, and oddly enough it goes perfectly with these wide legged pants that I’ve been obsessed with. Long live the rebellion!
With The Last Jedi and all it’s mixed feelings and emotions behind us (sort of), it’s nice to take a minute to really appreciate some of the other Star Wars movies. Immediate after watching The Last Jedi, I went back and rewatched The Force Awakens, Rogue One, and most of the original trilogy. And I don’t know about you, but I suddenly became so much more appreciative of these other movies and even what JJ Abrams did for The Force Awakens, despite people criticizing him for making it too similar to A New hope. It’s kind of like that saying, “you don’t know what you have until it’s gone”. Continue reading
Now that I’ve watched The Last Jedi for the 3rd time, I think I’m finally ready to put down in words my thoughts on this movie. You have been warned. There will be many many spoilers ahead so only read ahead if you are ready!
I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving yesterday! I’m definitely feeling the holiday spirit having just got back from Disneyland last weekend. I almost feel like I already celebrated Christmas there and then went backwards to celebrate Thanksgiving! But speaking of the holiday spirit, it’s just about that time of year for holiday parties and getting all dressed up! And with Star Wars: The Last Jedi coming out in just a few weeks, the timing couldn’t be any better for this outfit. The print on this dress will take you to a galaxy far, far, away and this clutch from my friends at Sent From Mars is the perfect accessory to keep this outfit in “first order”. I’m so excited that these clutches are being released into the public in just a few weeks and you can actually still pre-order one right now during their Black Friday sale! Happy party-going and be safe out there!!
When I first became obsessed with Star Wars, I had exactly one friend who was also a fan. Finding other Star Wars fans felt so rare that it was like hitting the jackpot whenever I met another person who shared my love – to the point that I even started a Star Wars club in high school! As I grew older and Star Wars became more and more mainstream, I’m happy to say that now I have lots of friends who like Star wars – probably more who do than don’t to be honest. And thanks to those friends, this past Friday I got to head up to Lucasfilm in SF to watch the first 3 episodes of Star Wars Rebels season 4! I never thought I would be so lucky and while I’m super excited about this season, I’m also really grateful for great friends and better yet, great Star Wars friends. Today I’m celebrating the season 4 premier with one of my new favorite Star Wars tees – this concept art of the Ahsoka and Vader duel, drawn by the awesome Dave Filoni! It’s a 3 donut day for sure!
Happy 7th Birthday, Her Universe! I can’t believe it’s already been 7 years! To think that when I first started this blog 5 years ago, I only had a handful of women’s geeky shirts and now I could put together a full on head to toe ensembles of different fandoms! I mean, check out one of my earlier blog posts here, centered around a very basic fitted Star Wars tee, which I was soo excited for at the time because it was such a rare find! Looking back on these old blog posts, it’s amazing to see how far geek fashion has come and I can’t help but think Her Universe had a huge part in all this. Continue reading
Well, I survived the FOMO of Star Wars Celebration. Last week was definitely a struggle not getting to be there, but thank goodness for friends who kept me up to date and lots of streaming! Who else found themselves in tears watching The Last Jedi trailer?? Honestly, I think at this point, every Star Wars trailer is going to make me cry. Haha. I was so grateful that they decided to show the trailer on the stream (unlike Rogue One) and although I can’t say it gave me as many chills as The Force Awakens, I think everyone is wondering what it means. I’m not going to speculate too much as I still love the element of surprise, but I seriously can’t wait! Continue reading
