Thank you everyone who shared, commented, and took my poll! Everyone has been super supportive through all of this and I’m happy to announce that my cosplay print store is officially OPEN! I spent all weekend researching and figuring out how exactly to run one of these things and I’m super excited to get started! Again, all proceeds will be going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. While I do also believe in supporting early detection, I wanted the main purpose of my donation to be research. Considering 1 in 8 women will get it, don’t you think it’s about time we found a cure?
Prints will only be available to order for 2 weeks only so order soon! And if you want to help the cause, but maybe don’t want a print, feel free to donate directly to my fundraiser. Thank you everyone for the support!
EEEEEK!! I’m especially excited today because I can finally share what I was filming with Nerdist the other week! I was contacted a while ago to be in their new web series – Totino’s Adventure People and am so incredibly honored to be in their segment on geek fashion. It was such a pleasure working with them and on top of that, I had the perfect excuse to do more shopping. Hehe. I’m still kinda of freaking out inside that it’s finally out and part of me just wants to crawl into my turtle shell and hide! Anyhow, check out the episode here and let me know what you think!
So instead of writing about my cosplay updates and showing you guys lots of progress pictures, I decided to do something different this time and just make a vlog instead! Find out how I chose this cosplay, take a tour around my messy workspace, and see what I’ve been making!
I finally got around to editing and adding pics of my Nathan Drake and Zombie Princess Bubblegum cosplay! I have such great memories wearing both of these to Wondercon. With Drake, it meant so much to me when people noticed my leather craftsmanship and shared their love of Uncharted with me. For PB, I loved that kids would point to me and say “It’s Princess Bubblegum!!” and sometimes get a little scared once seeing that I had a zombie face. Hope you enjoy these as much as I did wearing them!
Like many great shows (ahem, Firefly), they don’t really get discovered by fans until they’re off the air and it’s too late. Geek Love, a show from TLC is a perfect example of this. Sadly I am one of those people who didn’t know about this show until only recently, but I absolutely love it. It’s one of the first shows I’ve seen that gives you an accurate glimpse into the geek life – whether it’s being passionate about Star Wars, cosplaying, or feeling awkward.
After a super fun Friday at Wondercon, I had no problem waking up bright and early for another geek filled day. But instead of putting on yet another Star Wars T-shirt, today I was going as… dun dun da dahh… PIKACHU! Here’s my original concept art for it. Professional, I know! Continue reading →
