Do you ever just have one of those weeks where you’re just in a funk? My week started off with food poisoning for 2 days, followed by yet another 3 month cancer check up the next day (which was all clear in case you’re wondering). But I think it’s always after the check up where I usually feel a bit down. Continue reading
There are plenty of quotes that any Star Wars fan can easily identify – “I love you” followed by “I know”, “Never tell me the odds” and “I have a bad feeling about this” just to name a few. However, when the initial Rogue One teaser trailer came out, there was definitely one quote that gave me the chills – when Jyn Erso confidently said, “I rebel”. We didn’t know much about her character at the time – was she really going to help the rebellion or would she turn to the dark side? Hopefully by now you’ve watched Rogue One and loved it as much as I did and maybe you noticed, but the quote “I rebel” (along with a few other scenes from the trailers) never made the final cut! Even if that’s the case, I still love that line and designer Jordan Dene has perfectly captured it on this “I Rebel” tank. Now you can feel as badass as Jyn whenever you wear it. Paired with my new Rogue One tote from Loungefly, I’m definitely ready to go rogue.
When I say it’s been a cold winter in the Bay Area, keep in mind that I’m referring to a “Californian winter”, meaning that there will still be the occasional T-shirt appearance and days without your winter coat. :) Ever since I bought these super flared bell bottoms and Han Solo blaster necklace, I’ve had visions of Han Solo collared ’70s shirts, high collar Lando capes, and my favorite – ringer tees. I can’t resist a great ringer tee, let alone a Star Wars one. I don’t know about you, but I found this one especially interesting with the mysterious droid holding what appears to be Luke while Vader triumphantly stands over them. The droid kind of looks like the conceptual Ralph McQuarrie version of C-3PO, but I’m not exactly sure. Maybe this was a vintage comic book cover from an alternate universe? If anyone happens to have an idea, please let me know! Till then, enjoy this groovy outfit!
Let me first start this post by saying, Happy New Year! I know, I’m about 2 weeks late, but sickness took over during New Year’s Eve and I decided to take a short break from blogging to give myself some rest. But now that I’m all better, I wanted to ring in the new year with a super fun tee from one of my new favorite artists, Miss Kika. If you follow her on Instagram, she has some amazing “sugar sweet” illustrations that any girl that grew up in the ’80s will immediately love. And if you have a fondness for the kawaii/Lolita fashion of Japan, you will definitely dig her art. This Sailor Moon inspired tee with all it’s colors and gems is just so “fancy” that I knew it would be perfect for a New Year celebration outfit. 2016 was definitely a rough year for me and 2017 couldn’t have come sooner! And with that, here’s to a great 2017!
Following my post from the other day, I wanted to take advantage of the week leading up to Christmas to wear as many holiday themed outfits as possible! I can’t think of one Star Wars fan that doesn’t like R2-D2 (I mean, how can you like a character that doesn’t actually say anything and only beeps?), so what’s more festive than R2-D2 wearing reindeer antlers? To be honest, R2 is cute in everything, don’t you agree? Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas week in your favorite holiday attire!
No, I’m not wearing a dress covered in loaves of bread. Those short blobs of cuteness are in fact corgis! Made by Kira Kira Doodles, I picked up this dress during Stan Lee Comic Con the other month and I have to say, it’s had quite a journey. I had purchased the dress on the first night of the con and stored it away (or so I thought) for the rest of the weekend. A few days later while unpacking from my trip, I could not for the life of me find that dress! I contacted Uber (maybe I left it in the car?) and harassed my Airbnb host to keep checking his apartment, to the point where he started to ignore my messages. Then I remembered that the last time I saw it was on the night I purchased it while eating dinner at a Korean restaurant! Could I have left my dress there?
Hopefully everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving and/or is still getting ready for more holiday dinners this weekend (I know I am!). When it comes to holiday dinners, I’ve always felt that you can’t go wrong with a sweater. Whether it be an ugly Christmas sweater, an itchy wool sweater, or even a cardigan, a sweater is always appropriate attire for that family/friends dinner. And this Spider-Gwen sweater couldn’t have arrived at a better time! Continue reading
