There was a time in my life where I might have considered myself a hardcore gamer – I played on a professional team, we played in tournaments, had daily practice and played like it was our job (in actuality, it was). Nowadays, I only devote time to games that I really really want to play (Uncharted, Last of Us, Dark Souls, for example). And when it comes to new console releases, I’ve become the type to wait until the reviews come out before even considering the purchase. However, if there’s one thing I regret, it’s not pre-ordering the Nintendo Switch. Continue reading
Hopefully by now, most of you have heard of Loot Crate, what I can only describe as a “geeky subscription service”. The gist is that you pay a flat monthly fee and get an awesome box of geeky goodies once a month, which are also cleverly themed and hand selected. Well, they recently started a new subscription service that was right up my alley – a monthly box of geek clothing! Titled “Level Up Your Style“, I was immediately on board to do so and have been super excited every month to see what’s in store. Forget having to scour the internet for cool new stuff because now it just shows up at my door!! This month was their “dead” month and featured great items from The Walking Dead as well as Deadpool (which I have yet to watch :\). However, I immediately giggled when I opened this month’s package to find this adorable shirt filled with chibi Deadpools, Tacos, hot sauce, and did someone say CHIMICHANGA?? This shirt is so amazing that I will be giving one away on Instagram very soon, so keep an eye out!
Happy New Year!! Ok, I’m about 6 days late, but better late than never. So besides this amazing Star Wars bodysuit that I’m wearing, you might also notice I’m wearing a wig in today’s outfit! No matter how many times I’ve worn costumes or cosplay wigs out in public, for some reason, wearing wigs during this season of my life makes me incredibly self conscious! Go figure. I know, it’s probably just me since I’ve been reassured many times that I look fine in a wig, Continue reading
When Hot Topic announced the Spring 2015 Marvel line designed by last year’s Her Universe Fashion Show winners, I immediately knew had to have a few of their pieces in my wardrobe. However, I completely regret not buying one piece – their Stark Industries jacket! I was so bummed that they sold out and prices were nearly double on eBay due to the popularity! I guess Hot Topic realized this because they finally announced this summer that they would be restocking those pieces. This time I made sure to pick one up right away and have been trying to get the most use out of it before the weather gets too cold! I love the vintage bomber style of this jacket and decided to pair it with a ’40s inspired midi skirt. If only I had some classic pin-up curls to go with this!
I never thought of myself as an optimistic person. In fact I’m the total opposite being both skeptical and pessimistic. But as expected, the big “C” changes you. I’ve found myself becoming strangely optimistic – like finding meaning in small conversations with random strangers or feeling extremely grateful when I’m having a great day. But of course I have major highs and major lows, sometimes feeling free as a bird or wanting to wear nothing but black. Before my surgery, I actually came upon a small boutique that sold all black clothes and in there, I discovered this amazing brand, Sovrin. The designer had shirts that made me feel like my insides were reflected on the outside (and btw, check out her amazing sword leggings!!). I ordered a few pieces on Etsy and when they arrived, I was ironically incredibly happy to wear them. Oh! And on a side note, they go perfectly with my Force Awakens dark side lipstick!
Just a quick heads up that this is the last week that you can order prints! They are just about ready to be printed and I hope to send them out soon. This is the first time I’m doing this so I hope I get all the orders right! ;) And if you don’t want a print, but still want to support the cause, I also have a fundraiser page set up here. Anything helps and thanks so much for your support! <3
Thank you everyone who shared, commented, and took my poll! Everyone has been super supportive through all of this and I’m happy to announce that my cosplay print store is officially OPEN! I spent all weekend researching and figuring out how exactly to run one of these things and I’m super excited to get started! Again, all proceeds will be going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. While I do also believe in supporting early detection, I wanted the main purpose of my donation to be research. Considering 1 in 8 women will get it, don’t you think it’s about time we found a cure?
Prints will only be available to order for 2 weeks only so order soon! And if you want to help the cause, but maybe don’t want a print, feel free to donate directly to my fundraiser. Thank you everyone for the support!
