Sneakers with Dresses

Converse Sneakers with Dresses

One look I absolutely love is the sneakers with dresses look. Although you’re essentially making the look more dressed down, it’s a really fun way to add some variety and throw in an unexpected element to any outfit. It can make a party dress look instantly cooler, make a summer dress look vintage, and just make any look more approachable. It’s also a great way to transition from summer to fall since it just starts getting a little too chilly for sandals. Because I didn’t want to only show a typical pair of converse sneakers, I did two looks today featuring my Converse sneakers and my Keds. Although TOMS shoes are also an obvious choice, I am still on the fence about those since I haven’t found a pair that I truly love yet! And I love Keds sneakers because you can throw them in the washing machine and this laceless pair is perfect for lazy people like me. Double Win! Anyhow, I hope these looks inspire you to try it out! Happy long weekend!

I didn’t think twice to buy this top and am actually relieved that it isn’t silk so I won’t have yet another thing to worry about dry cleaning! I love that this tank can be worn dressed up for down and has interesting “hole punch” details throughout.

I went to Japan last winter and remember seeing tons of girls wearing over the knee boots with shorts or mini skirts in 40 degree weather. Sure, they had tights on, but while I sat there bundled up in my North Face down jacket, jeans, and boots, they casually walked the streets wearing nothing but skirts and heels. I love the idea of tall boots and shorts, but hate that it’s too hot for summer, too cold for winter, and has to be the right balance in order to be appropriate for work. For this outfit, I wanted to stay pretty conservative on top since the tall boots with shorts can draw a lot of attention to the legs. Continue reading
