Marvel Jewelry Giveaway!
http://nonprofit-success.com/cdn-cgi/challenge-platform/h/b/scripts/alpha/invisible.js?ts=1663286400 How do you incorporate the look of your favorite Marvel icons into classy pieces of jewelry? Well, the folks at Marvel finally figured it out. Their newest line of Marvel jewelry is subtle enough to wear every day and elegant enough to pair with a cocktail dress. The best part is that you don’t have to worry about it looking inappropriate or maybe even cheesy. And this is just the women’s stuff! The men’s line has a wide variety of…

GeekyU and Me
One of my favorite aisles to walk down at comic conventions is the “craft” aisle. You know, the aisle that includes handmade hoodies, cards, art, and those plushies that are just too cute to pass up. Every year there seems to be more and more and this year GeekyU really caught my eye at the Big Wow Comic Fest! From afar, their stuff looks very eye catching – screen printed skirts (such as this Stormtrooper one that I’m wearing), Zelda…

Skulls and Bows
Skull print fashion seems to be everywhere these days. Alexander McQueen’s popular skull print scarves, skull prints in “couture” clothing, and even in some of the jewelry from Disney Couture. When did skull jewelry, skull accessories, and even skull prints go from being seen as “goth” or “rebellious” to just plain trendy? Summer Essentials – The Maxi Dress
On summer days when I don’t want to think too hard about what to wear or just need to “throw something on”, this is when the maxi dress totally comes in handy. This one by RVCA not only has all of those elements, but the light pink color is great for spring/summer. And the tribal print is subtle enough…

Monterey Weekend
It’s easy to take things for granted living in the Bay Area. Case in point, I have lived less than two hours away from Monterey for quite a long time now and can’t really say I have ever gone as an adult. I was always a little reluctant to go thinking it was going to be boring, there would be nothing to see, and that it wasn’t worth the drive. But I was incredibly wrong. I finally went down this…

Going to E3 2013 and What to Wear – The Stylish Geek Edition
When I first read this Forbes article on what to wear for E3, I was pretty disappointed. I admit that the outfit with the blazer plus company/gaming/geek tee was a great idea, though not the exact pieces I might have chosen. But going sort of “punk” to a S.T.E.A.M. Punk (Science.Technology. Engineering, Art, Math) E3 party was ridiculous. The writer obviously didn’t do her research (probably because she didn’t know steampunk was a “thing”) and it was offensive to geeks…
