Have you ever looked in the mirror and realized that you’re unintentionally cosplaying? Well, the other day I had one of those moments. I was wearing my favorite striped dress and decided I needed a light jacket to wear over it. Fall is all about layering so I put on an army shirt with a light hoodie underneath. I was halfway through my day when I suddenly realized who I resembled – Ramona Flowers. Granted, Ramona Flowers has SO many looks in not only the comic and the movie, but something about my outfit totally reminded me of her or even a version of a cosplay that I had seen before. Perhaps it was a combination of the blue hair, the military shirt over a hoodie, the stripes, or the stars on my bag, but I’m sure deep down I was ready to save the world.
It’s sadly that time of year where I get another year older and hopefully another year wiser. Sigh! I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been one of those people who likes birthdays. It’s partially just the weird attention, followed by unsettling expectations, and of course just getting older. However, just like the saying goes – “Dress for the job you want, not the job you have”, I also sometimes think that you should dress for the way you want to feel, not the way you actually feel. This hot pink scuba skirt is definitely helping and will for sure help me get my party on this weekend – even if it is reluctantly!
