Big Wow Comic Fest Recap

Granted that I didn’t get to attend Wondercon since it was all the way in Anaheim this year, I was really itching to go to some comic event before the big San Diego convention. Thank goodness for the Big Wow Comic Fest! Although fairly small and low key, the con was just enough for me get a good dosage of toys, comics, artwork, and geeks.

The highlight of the event was definitely attending the panel with pro cosplayers Ridd1e and Valerie Perez. Both women really know their craft and take cosplaying to a whole other level. Valerie was dressed as Wonder Woman and completely blew me away when she talked about her armor. I mean, why use Wonderflex (like I did for my She-Ra costume) when you can just get someone to make you metal arm bands and a head piece? Also, her custom boots were amazing! Ridd1e looked awesome in a latex Mary Marvel cosplay, which fit her perfectly. I can imagine it would be pretty challenging to sew latex and really appreciate the hard work that goes into making a costume like that. As a long time follower of her, she is such a prolific cosplayer and has beautiful craftsmanship and attention to detail. Her portfolio speaks for itself. And not only were they both lovely in person, but super nice too.

Anyhow, here are some of the cool things I saw on the floor. Enjoy!
