WonderCon 2014 Recap

Wondercon 2014 pics

I may say this all the time, but this year’s Wondercon was truly different than other cons that I have experienced in the past. Not only was I in my first panel, but what made this a truly fun experience was getting to meet some of you guys – my readers and those familiar with this blog and my cosplay work. I was so flattered and really humbled to have met so many great people and it was so encouraging to me to finally put some faces to those “likes”. To my readers, followers, and fans (I still cringe at that word to think I might have “fans”), thank you so much for your support, feedback, and always encouraging me in my work.

No recap is complete without pics, so on with the photos!

The Floor:

I only wandered around half the floor this time (not sure where all the time went!) but it was great to see all things new, old, and handmade.

The Panels:

Sadly, I only went to 2.5 panels (besides my own). Wondercon seems to have their crowd management really under control as most of the panels seemed like you could just walk in at the last minute (or even show up in the middle of it!) Even big ones like the 20th Century Fox one weren’t at full capacity from what I heard. However, larger panels like Adventure Time that were considered too small for the Arena, ended up being too big for largest of the small rooms! Unfortunately a lot of people, including myself, weren’t able to make it into that one. :( NOT mathematical!

Here are some photos from the Legends panel with Mr. Ned Stark himself, Sean Bean. Also joining him were Morris Chestnut, Ali Larter, and Tina Majorino. Sounds like a pretty solid cast, but I felt like by the end of the panel, I was still confused as to what the show was really about!

The Cosplay:

No con is complete without all the cosplay. Although I didn’t capture a ton of cosplayers, these were definitely some that stood out to me.

And of course I met so many cool people and made some new friends!

I thought that was you in the looooong line trying to get in to the adventure time panel. We just caught a glimpse of you as the lines passed each other, then we lost you. My daughter and I didn’t get in either, but it have us a chance to check out more of the exhibit hall and artist alley (seemed bigger this year) Keep up the good work, hope to see you in SD!
