Her Universe Fashion Show 2016

I still can’t believe San Diego Comic-Con is over (yes, I have major con depression and con withdrawal) and I don’t even know where to begin in order to sum up the fun time I had there so let’s start with the obvious – the Her Universe Fashion Show. Obviously I love geek fashion so this is a must-see event for me. I even told some friends that this event is like New York Fashion Week for geeks, am I right? The competition was seriously fierce this year and as someone who participated in the show last year, I know how much incredible detail and work went into every garment that walked down the runway – from every bead, every appliqué, every hand made accessory – even down to the shoes. I know how much blood, sweat, and tears went into every stitch so hats off too all the amazing designers. There’s not much else to say, so on with the photos!

It was so great catching up with fellow geek fashionistas as we anxiously awaited the designs to come down the runway.

Finally, the show started!! It was incredibly difficult to choose JUST ONE!

I’m still in awe that the cloak of this dress was made from bicycle tires! This was basically 3 looks in 1 and blew me away. Titled “Dragon Beyond the Wall”, designed by Grace Duval.

This gorgeous dress lit up with Professor Snape’s Patronus as she walked down the runway! Awww… Titled “The Always Dress” by Selina Zawacki.

And the audience winner – this Marauder’s Map dress that literally appeared right before our eyes! Designed by Camille Falciola.

I loved seeing all the dresses up close after the show. And huge congrats to my friend Hannah Kent for getting judges pick for 1st place!! I’m so excited for her!
