Fit with the Force

Star Wars Crop Top with Moto Jacket

This may sound like another familiar New Year resolution, but I have been determined to get in shape as much as possible these past couple of weeks. Before you freak out that I’m trying to lose weight (because I seem to get that reaction whenever I tell people I need to work out), let me explain myself. After going through a pretty rough patch during my last round of chemo, I just felt the need to get my body in better shape before my next round. Many have mentioned that exercise supposedly helps – and I did notice I felt better after my 2nd round versus my 3rd maybe because I exercised more? Who knows. Either way, I’ve been super diligent about working out when I can and even pushed my introverted self to a few fitness classes. Eek! Of course working out sometimes requires some motivation so I’ve been going a little crazy buying tons of activewear. I guess it should have been obvious, but I only recently realized that cuter workout clothes actually do make me want to work out more! And it should also come to no surprise that you can even find Star Wars activewear – courtesy of Forever 21’s new line of Star Wars clothing. They even have matching booty shorts and sweats! :D I guess everyone has different motivations to get them going, so what motivates you guys?

Motivations change. I’m trying to get healthier as well, some of it is cosplay related, some is personal, a large part is a very competitive bet with friends. Glad to see you’re keeping it going. Stay (force) strong!- RPGAdventurers Alex

I have several mini-motivators right now!
    1. I am using an agenda to set my goals and perform time-blocking. My agenda is hand-made/copied from the Kickstarter PDF because I couldn’t order http://www.thesparknotebook.com/ in time (next orders go out in March), but it’s been incredibly useful for scheduling exercise — and everything else!
    2. Doing something I love. I am taking three dance classes per week! My body CRAVES it now. It’s a hell of a workout, but it never feels tedious. Plus I can tell from recording the routines that I’m slowly getting better. :)
    3. NETFLIX!! I have been a beginner lifter for years. I currently use StrongLifts 5×5 app for my lifting routine. But now that I’m taking dance classes, my lifting has felt pretty boring. But maintaining muscle mass prevents osteoporosis and makes every activity in my life easier, so it’s necessary. So I use Netflix (BETWEEN sets, during rest periods) to motivate my lifting sessions. I’m almost caught up on Scandal!

Daisy Ridley can deadlift more than her bodyweight — I wonder what her routine is… https://www.instagram.com/p/6puNsxFE1e/

Yes, totally agree that you need to have fun in your workouts or else it can be SO boring. I had no idea you did dance! That’s so awesome. I’ve always wanted to try, but part is way too shy to go to a dance class (or even hip hop aerobics!). and OMG Daisy Ridley. She is sick!

Your outfit is so badass. And I like the crop top that seems sexy as hell. Hehe. XD

Right now I have plans for the moment: Blogging about gaming, music, even style and serious stuff, doing Polyvore as means for creating my very own badass styles, researching about video games and EDM, Coachella researches, and so on and so forth. Hehe. I also have plans that aren’t just on the list, so I’m trying to do planning better at the moment.
