Skull print fashion seems to be everywhere these days. Alexander McQueen’s popular skull print scarves, skull prints in “couture” clothing, and even in some of the jewelry from Disney Couture. When did skull jewelry, skull accessories, and even skull prints go from being seen as “goth” or “rebellious” to just plain trendy? I’ve enjoyed skull print stuff for a long time now and it’s good and bad that there are so many options these days. 5 years ago, I would have never found a feminine skull print dress like this one from Royal Bones, but on the downside, it’s getting to be just as common as any other print. I guess the hard part is weeding out the trendy items from the quality items. My tip for that is to definitely go with the more unique pieces since they are more likely to be timeless!

Summer Essentials – The Maxi Dress
On summer days when I don’t want to think too hard about what to wear or just need to “throw something on”, this is when the maxi dress totally comes in handy. Paired with a belt, sweater, and your favorite sandals, the maxi dress covers all my favorite “Cs” – comfortable, casual, and chic. This one by RVCA not only has all of those elements, but the light pink color is great for spring/summer. And the tribal print is subtle enough that you could dress this up or just wear it to the beach!
Sea of Blue
How can I even start to describe this amazing Rachel Zoe maxi skirt? On the rack, it just looked like another silk skirt, but wearing it, especially on a somewhat windy day, made me feel so elegant and so feminine. It’s hard to really capture how beautiful this skirt is in photos, but hopefully you get the idea. And this is definitely a great piece that could easily go day to night! Just beware that it does run really long so make sure to get out those platform heels!
We Want Star Wars Weekends!
For someone who lives a 6 hour drive away from LA, I am pretty sure I frequent Disneyland more than the average person in the Bay Area. Estimating something like 2 times a year for the past 10+ years, I’d say I’ve been there quite a lot, almost to the point where I must go at least once a year. And for the first time in my life, I am an annual pass holder, which means Disneyland all year round!! Woo hoo! Some of you may wonder if one would just get sick of Disneyland after a while, but if you’ve been there enough, you’ll come to realize that there is a whole ‘nother dimension of Disneyland - Disneyana. Cozy Chic in the Helmut Lang Wrap Skirt
I wanted to title this post something cheesy like “Darth Helmut” (referencing Space Balls of course), but given that the world of Helmut Lang and Darth Vader don’t cross over too often, I decided not to. I recently got this Helmut Lang wrap skirt and fell in love the moment I put it on. It’s one of those skirts that you can dress up or down and way it’s draped in a way that would flatter anyone’s figure. Oh, and did I mention how comfortable and soft it is?
Super Hero Summer
Happy Friday! Wearing one of my favorite tanks that just came back in stock – the “I Only Date Super Heroes” tank top! And coincidentally enough, I’m also wearing almost all Forever 21 clothes in this post. I may not be 21 anymore, but their clothes are seriously fun and soo affordable that I’d be surprised if there are any women out there who don’t own something from that store! But buyers be warned – you definitely have to be picky about what you buy there. T-shirts and tanks, definitely. Leggings, definitely. Jackets and pants, depends on the fabric and quality. Shoes? Maybe not. Unlike many stories I hear, I personally have never had anything “fall apart” on me or get “destroyed” in the wash, but then again, I am very picky about what I buy from there, so definitely be careful! That’s why they say, “you get what you pay for”!
Happy Star Wars Day! (And Free Comic Book Day too!)
The title says it all. Happy Star Wars Day! I love May 4th because it just gives you an excuse to re-watch your favorite Star Wars episode and wear your favorite Star Wars tee. Wait, I guess I do that every once in a while anyways. I guess it also gives you reasoning to be able to talk about Star Wars all day long and force your friends to listen to it. How about that? On top of that, what could be better than Star Wars day except that it happens to also be the same day as Free Comic Book Day! Amazing! The stars have aligned today and all is right in the universe. Of course I got my fix of both. What about you guys?
